《封神第一部》在7月20日上映首日，拿下4905万的票房，成为了当天日冠。但7月21日开心麻花新片《超能一家人》来势汹汹，使《封神第一部》暂列日榜第二。不过很快，《封神》又凭借其过硬的口碑，在周末两天稳居日冠位置，收获超2.43亿的票房。
电影《封神第一部》是《封神三部曲》的开篇之作，讲述商王殷寿与狐妖妲己勾结，暴虐无道，引发天谴。昆仑仙人姜子牙携“封神榜”下山，寻找天下共主，以救苍生。西伯侯之子姬发逐渐发现殷寿的本来面目，反出朝歌。
